Introduction of Taklung Wosel Jewai ling monastery in bhutan

In the southern region of darkness realm, the great righteous persons like Ugyen Pema Juney (Padma Sambhava) and Zhabdung Ngawang Namgyal visited and blessed all the environments and living beings. In this region, the Buddhism flourished like the sun light in the darkness after which the famous Buddhist country known as Bhutan came into existence. In around 80 miles away from the southern Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, the monastery is situated on a mountain that looks like an elephant’s nose. Paro Taktshang (Tiger Nest), one of the eight legendary meditation places of Guru Rinpoche faces the monastery and Paro Kyichu

Temple, which was built by Dharma King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century with his supernatural power, is also located nearby. In 2010, the Taklung Ripoche consulted and sought the opinion of His Holiness the seventeen Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje on the acceptance and construction of new temple and residents for the monks at Paro. His Holiness with profound analysis blessed and named the monastery as Taklung Wosel Jewai Ling Monastery. Therefore, without underlining the population of monk community and following the noble traditional heritage of the great ancestors, Taklung Rinpoche established the monastic institution.

Guru Vajradhara His Holiness Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa consecrated the Monastery during his visit to Bhutan in 2017.
